There is no need to hold the switch down for long periods of time. The steam vent, steam passage and steam generating chamber are all very easily cleaned by simply removing the cover. The thermostat is a liquid expansions type, therefore very durable. The soleplate suface is hard alumite with the heater die casted in , making for high thermal efficiency. No boiler is needed because of the economical water drip system. A highly stable EP (ethylene, propylene) rubber power cord is used. The iron can be used by dry or with steam.
